Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS)

Mission Statement

“To stimulate, coordinate, and strengthen library and information services within Cayuga, Cortland, Seneca, Tioga, and Tompkins counties.”

The Finger Lakes Library System (FLLS) is a non-profit regional cooperative library system serving public libraries in five counties. The System, chartered in 1958 by NYS, is mainly supported by state funds.

The services they provide to their member libraries are broad in scope; they provide advice, leadership and direction on issues and concerns that libraries face daily. From keeping members abreast of updates on library legislation and budgetary issues, to centralized cataloging, youth services and service to the institutionalized and homebound.

Each department within the System provides a variety of services to member libraries and their staff, who in turn provide enhanced services to their patrons.
